my story
UNAPOLOGETICALLY DIVINE
Hey there!
I’m Natalia Monique — a photographer with a deep love for capturing beauty in all its forms. While those are my specialties, I truly enjoy photographing just about anything that inspires me.
I’m the proud owner of T.T.E.N (Through The Eyes of Natalia) Studios, and although I run the studio solo, I frequently work with my brother from another, and incredibly talented photographer, Ron, on many creative projects.
Originally from Barbados and raised in St. Lucia, moved to the U.S when I was a teenager and been here ever since. My passion for photography started early — I was always drawn to the disposable cameras my mom brought back when she traveled, and when I look back at our family photos, it’s clear: I was the one behind the lens from the very beginning.
My Story
How i got started
Life has taken me in many different directions, and even though my best friend had no idea I was into photography when I was younger, she ended up being the one who encouraged me to pursue it. As fate would have it, she knew a photographer and connected us, and helped me to purchase my first camera.
In the beginning, I wasn’t sure what niche I loved most—I was shooting just about everything. One day, while I was out doing some street photography, I met a guy named Jordan, and he invited me to this dope event in by the West End, called “Still Life Sessions.”
Still Life was a creative hangout where nude female models posed for short timed sessions—anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes. I had no idea what I was walking into that night, and I definitely wasn’t prepared for what I saw (lol). Even though I’m no stranger to nudity, I was shocked that something this unique was happening right in the West End—an area I’ve worked in for over 10 years.
Through that space, I met so many talented photographers who helped me grow in the craft. Since starting this journey, I’ve fallen deeply in love with capturing one of God’s greatest creations: the Black woman. I said what I said!
WHY i do what i do!
Photography has always been more than creating beautiful images, it's preserving stories that deserve to be remembered.
As a Black woman, I understand how important it is to be seen, celebrated, and documented with intention. Too often, our stories, milestones, and everyday beauty go uncaptured. My purpose is to create a space where Black women feel confident, valued, and truly seen.
Every session is built on trust, connection, and authenticity. Whether you're celebrating motherhood, a new chapter, your wedding day, your personal growth, or simply choosing to honor yourself, I want you to walk away with more than photographs. I want you to leave with a reminder of your strength, your beauty, and the legacy you're creating.
Years from now, these images will become more than memories, they will become heirlooms that tell your story for generations to come.
Because your story deserves to be beautifully remembered.
